Anyone who knows me, (or anyone that follows me on instagram/facebook/twitter) will know fully well that mid September, me and the lad finally moved into our swanky new pad and a month in, we are more than settled. Small but perfectly formed, the place suits us perfectly and makes all the others we saw before hand look..well look a bit shit! I think we got really lucky finding it, as soon we stepped through the door on our first viewing we gave each other the look of ‘yes, this is the one!’ and managed to snap it up.
Since a young age I’ve loved the idea of decorating and interior design. When I used to play the Sims I would switch it off after I had built and decorated the house, and Changing Rooms was a firm favourite on the TV! Now days I get my decor kicks by browsing Pinterest, so to get the chance to jazz up what was essentially a white box, was more than exciting. I’ve done many posts on flat inspiration and products I’ve purchased in the run up to us moving in, so thought I would share a few snap shots of those bits and bobs in place.
What I like the most is the open kitchen and living area. We love to cook (well he does, I just eat) so we wanted somewhere open and sociable and has proved to work well so far. The kitchen is a beaut as we are the first tennants, all the appliances are brand new. Everything is Smeg, (I didn’t know you could get Smeg dishwashers and ovens?!) and it’s just nice to know that you’re not reusing someone elses old things. I’m a snob, I know. The bathroom looks like a hotel’s, although I have found gets dusty SO easily (what’s up with that?) and last Sunday we put together our final piece of furniture – a second massive wardrobe to fit our thousands of clothes, to make the bedroom complete. Here are just a few snaps of the month so far… enjoy!
