Boo, I can’t believe Christmas is over already! Luckily I was given Christmas Eve off unexpectedly, so I did get a mini run up to the big day, and moved back home for a couple of nights over the holiday season. As expected Christmas was lovely, with endless food and drink, and far too many presents than I think I’m worth.
I avoided the post Christmas blues by travelling down to Kent to be reunited with B and stay with his family in Broadstairs. It’s always amazing being close to the sea, with Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate nearby. There’s always a lot of fun things to see and do whenever I come down to visit, and this time around was no different. B’s brother James (check out his beaut blog here) had told us about a Café/Homeware shop that had recently opened up in Ramsgate Marina called Archive, and suggested we go there for lunch one day as it was right up our street. So that’s exactly what we did.
The sun was shining for us as we walked down the harbour edge and headed into Archive. It really was beautiful inside, with a Scandi-style, and lots of delicious things on the menu. Half the downstairs is a homeware shop, and the other half the café with a bar where you order and communal tables. I went for a simple toastie and B had the very hipster avocado and bacon on toast. The menu wasn’t huge, but they also had breakfast options and a range of teas and coffee’s.
My favourite part of Archive was definitely the upstairs. With white painted brickwork, plants, retro furniture and industrial lighting – it was definitely Pinterest worthy, and has given me lots of ideas for my future home! The large upstairs windows opened out onto the beautiful view of the yachts on water. I’m looking forward to going back to Archive when I next head down to the coast and trying out more goodies from the menu, and even making a cheeky purchase from the shop!
