Planning for 13 of us to adventure to Barbados seemed like a distant dream, and even on the plane it still didn’t feel real that we were literally heading to paradise. Days were spent either by our pool or on one of the island’s many stunning beaches, lazing around, swimming in the crystal clear waters, drinking cocktails or burying people in the sand. One day was a bit more lively spent on an all inclusive Catamaran trip, where we swam with turtles and snorkelled out to a shipwreck. The famous Bajan rum punch went down a bit too well, and this teamed with Rhianna hits being blasted out on deck as well as all round high spirits, made for a day none of us will forget! There was sunburn, more sunburn and lots of aftersun. There was the famous ‘jet ski incident’ which definitely included alcohol. There was a pet cat we acquired and named Jim. There was an inflatable pink donut pool float that the boys kept hogging. We had an awards ceremony on the beach where the awards ranged from ‘island nurse’ to ‘best holiday rep’. We laughed, a lot. We ate delicious fresh fish every day, mostly with hot pepper sauce. We had two holiday anthems, both which have been in all of our heads since the day we got home (seriously how do you make it stop?!) It really was better than we could ever imagine and we miss it dearly already. To the next holiday!
